A Sneak Peak to 2012 at Lola Rose

Hi Everyone,

Gosh, I am so sorry for not writing sooner, I can’t believe how quickly time flies by these days!

We have just finished showing our fabulous new collections at London Fashion Week. The Fashion Editors and Press absolutely loved what we presented and now we are preparing to go to Paris Fashion Week. Ooh la la!

And………I am really excited to share something new with everyone – Lola Rose Boutique. 

Our new range of semi-precious jewellery is cast in brass and so highly polished that you can almost see your reflection!  As you know silver prices have rocketed through the roof, making all of us designers very sad. So, I decided to invest in new machinery at our factories which means we can make the jewellery in brass,  with the same finish and expertise as our sterling silver rings, but at almost a third of the price.  This enables me to bring you the old-style Lola cocktail rings and earrings back at the most fab prices.

Design has not been comprised in the slightest, in fact it has opened up a whole new world for us.  I have attached some photos for you to see, and we will launch these in June on our website (fingers crossed).

                   

We are also launching Miss Lola in April for Debenhams, which is a gorgeous delicate range concentrating on the therapies of the stones.  Once I get more news on this range I will post you some pictures, but wanted you to hear it first!

Lola Rose Bath and Body collection also previewed this season at its first trade show, which after 2 years of development, was particularly nerve wracking for me. With huge relief on my part it was fantastically well received and should be available in selected retailers and of course the Lola website in the Autumn.

So as you can see things are as busy and crazy as usual, but no excuse to not write to you all!

I am off to the Far East on Friday to source new stones which is always the best part of my job.  However, I am already feeling anxious about leaving Fred, but I know that he is in great hands with my fab nanny and of course Justin and my parents.  Still it does not make those long nights of no sleep (jetlag) any easier when all I want to be doing is giving him a hug!  He is so grown up now and officially a little boy instead of a baby!  He’s so funny and full of personality all the time, I feel totally blessed.  Although I am not sure I had all those feelings at 5.30am this morning when he decided it was time to get up!

Freddie also started nursery at the end of last year.  Why does nobody warn you in all the “how to be good parent” books about the emotions a mum is going to feel those first few weeks standing outside the gates, still hearing him screaming for you!?  Funny thing is I cried for almost three weeks, whereas he only cried for the first 3 minutes every day!  Luckily now, due to the great teachers and Freddie’s love affair with one in particular, he has now settled in and on Friday cried for “more school!”

Anyhow, I would love to hear your views on the new Boutique range and I promise to write once I am back from the Far East.

Busy times at Lola Rose…

Hello everyone!

I thought I would quickly write before you all (hopefully!) are off on your well deserved summer hols.

I hope you have been well and have been enjoying all the fab sales around at the moment.

So much has happened since I last wrote my blog and again apologies for leaving it so long. It’s been one of those manic times when even finding time to do the lovely things like writing my blog has proven difficult.

Last week I flew to New York to do a trunk show in Bloomingdales. This is where I stand by a table of Lola jewels and meet and greet customers. It is so much fun but I don’t envy anyone who has to stand all day long in high heels and still be smiling at the end of it. The true heroes! My feet are yet to recover! Leaving Fred this time had to be the worst yet, I guess because he is getting older and therefore I knew he was going to miss me this time. I know this may sound confusing, but the thought of Fred missing me hurts me far more than the thought of me missing him!!!!  Did that make sense at all???

I made a deal with Justin though that he would promise to take a video of him every morning London time and email it to me, so that when I woke up in New York it would be sitting there waiting for me to watch. It worked out great and set me up for the day with a huge smile.

Lola is crazy busy at the moment and Roger is flying to Japan this week to do a mini TSV with Shop Channel Japan. I have been poorly so he is kindly taking my place which gives me some time here in the UK to recharge my batteries, of course in time for our QVC TSV on the 23rd July! Another marathon 7 hours but I am almost positive that you are going to love this TSV as much as I do!!! Well… Here’s hoping! Be sure to let me know what you think afterwards – we have a lot of gorgeous stuff coming up.

This week is the UK Jewellery Awards and Lola Rose has been shortlisted for Jewellery Brand of the Year. It is a huge honour to be nominated alongside such huge international brands. The Awards take place on Thursday night at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, so I will let you know all the winners when I next write to you. My Dad is convinced that if by chance Lola wins, he is going to make an Oscar-esque acceptance speech. Don’t think so Dad!

The New Autumn Winter range should be launching on the site next week, and I am so excited about some of the pieces. I have literally lived in my new charm bracelets all summer, they are so cute and lovely to wear, plus I literally have friends pulling them off my wrist. I have attached some images for you to have a sneak preview. The new stones are so rich and yummy! The cherry is still definitely my pick, followed closely behind by the peacock and the stunning fern! The Fern Quartzite looks so expensive, it is like a vintage Green Jade and has an air of mystery about it.  The Peacock also follows a vintage look but just looks absolute fantastic with denim – which is totally on trend right now. The black cherry is just so easy to wear, chic, glossy and goes with absolutely everything! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on everything. I think we might be sneak previewing you a few of the new stones in the July TSV.

Hope you are all well and have had a great week.

So, I’ve been having a think about the blog and had forgotten how fun it is writing it and keeping up to date with you all.

As you know, the website is now complete. I hope you’ll all agree that Naomi and Max have done a great job at getting it all ready, I just wanted to thank you all so much for sticking with us and hopefully your shopping experience now is a pleasant one!

Hi everyone,

I am so sorry I’ve not been in touch recently; we had murders with our new website but now we seem to (fingers crossed) be more settled.

Gosh I can’t believe it was New Year at my last blog – where does the time go?

This year has been as hectic and busy as usual, and we’ve just finished selling our Autumn Winter collection which should be in stores by July but we will preview you some pieces on our website earlier than this, promise! The colours are rich, sumptuous and very wintery, so I can’t wait to show you.

Have you all had wonderful bank holidays? Personally, I try to pack so much into mine as it is such a fab opportunity for me to spend all the hours given with Freddie that I actually have found them exhausting. Freddie is now a proper little boy, understands everything that you say and is literally turning from my baby into my best friend. I love hanging out with him as he has such a cheeky personality and is great company. The problem I foresee is that he is a complete clown and does anything he can to make you laugh and applaud. That is fine with us but I’m not sure his school teachers are going to appreciate him finding pouring a glass of water over his head (and probably theirs) as funny as he does! I have attached a photo of him below with his exhausted Dad in background. Sometimes I do wonder, being such a girly girl how I managed to create such a boy in every sense – its all about climbing, jumping, worms, fire engines, trucks, football and his favourite person in the world – his Dad!

Did you all watch the Royal Wedding? How amazing did Kate look and how gorgeous is William! I still can’t believe that our future Queen has worn a piece of Lola Rose. It has been featured so many times that I felt I was getting a little blasé about it, but when I watched a news report from America and they showed a picture of Kate in our heart pendant, it hit me what a fantastic accolade this is and how proud I should be… We have ordered some more of the Amazonite heart pendant that she wore and it should be back in stock in approx 6 weeks, however, we do have a waiting list for it so please email Naomi if you wish to be added to the list. I think after that I will discontinue this line and bring it back when Kate becomes our Queen! We still do have some Rose Quartz on promo on our website and this is equally as gorgeous and of course because in Rose Quartz, symbolizes LOVE! Also our Royal Wedding promo will still run this weekend and finish on Monday at 6pm so don’t forget to have one quick last look before then.
